Content rules

NotiChess is a chess space for players, coaches and clubs. Chat, groups and shared databases only work between accepted friends or by invitation: there is no public feed visible to a stranger. These rules say what is expected of everyone anyway, and how to report something that is not right.

They are published by NotiPro SAS, publisher of NotiChess.

What these rules cover

Anything another player can see in the application:

• messages exchanged in chat, in a direct conversation or a group;
• games, positions, databases and puzzles you share;
• the names you give to a group.

What is not allowed

• Harassment and insults, toward another player or a third party.
• Sexual content.
• Spam and scams: unwanted solicitations, misleading links, requests for money.
• Encouraging cheating: offering or advertising a way to cheat during a game.
• Illegal content, in any form.

How to report

From a conversation, there are two ways to report:

• a message's menu: open the menu of the message in question and choose "Report";
• a conversation's menu, in a direct conversation: to report the person themselves rather than a specific message. In a group, this entry does not exist: there you report a message, not the person.

Pick the reason that fits, and add a comment if you want to. You can report as many times as needed, within a reasonable limit meant to prevent accidental bursts of submissions.

What happens to a report

Every report is reviewed by our team. It is kept for twelve months, then erased automatically. The reported person is never told that they were reported.

You cannot view the list of your own reports in the application: they are handled on the publisher's side.

Possible outcomes

Depending on severity and repeat behavior, a well-founded report can lead to:

• removal of the content in question;
• deletion of the account involved.
