Analyzing a game should never slow down your thinking. Yet most players know the same experience: menus piled up over twenty years, keyboard shortcuts inherited from another era, windows to rearrange every time you open the software. You end up spending more time steering the program than understanding the position.

NotiChess was designed the other way around. The interface was rebuilt from scratch around a single principle: what you are looking for must be immediately at hand, and nothing else should clutter the screen. Every position is explored fluidly, every variation is built without friction. You get up to speed in a few minutes, with no documentation, even if you have never used analysis software before.

Behind this simplicity lies full analytical power. The Stockfish and Leela Chess Zero engines run natively, at full strength, using the real resources of your machine, with no throttling, no queue and no calculation time limit. You thus get two complementary views of the same position: Stockfish's concrete, tactical evaluation, and Leela's more positional, intuitive reading. For closed positions or long-term compensation, this dual reading often changes the diagnosis.

But NotiChess does not stop at a move-by-move evaluation. The software reads the game as a whole: it automatically identifies the tactical patterns running through it (pins, forks, skewers, deflections, discovered attacks) and sorts them by category. This work, which would take hours of manual review, happens in the background while you play or study something else.

Around this analysis, you find all the working tools you would expect: entering variations and sub-variations, comments and annotations on moves, direct comparison of the position with the reference database.

Game after game, these observations accumulate and form a personal playing profile. Not an overall grade, but a precise map: the patterns you spot systematically, those you miss, the phases of the game where your decisions deteriorate, the structures that put you in trouble. It is this map that then feeds your statistics and your training exercises. Analysis stops being an isolated exercise and becomes the starting point of measurable progress.
