Feature 04

A repertoire that
builds itself.

In detail

The opening repertoire is the weak point of most existing tools. Not because the feature is missing, but because it rests entirely on you: you have to enter every variation by hand, keep it up to date, reorganize it when theory evolves. As a result, many players start a repertoire and abandon it along the way.

NotiChess reverses the logic by automating the construction. The opening explorer is generated directly from the reference database of 13 million games, or from your own personal database, with fully adjustable analysis depth: a few moves for an overview, twenty moves for serious preparation on a specific variation. You choose the source and the depth, the rest happens without intervention. Pre-generated explorers are also available for download, ready to use.

Your opening tree then evolves with you. Every game you play enriches it automatically: new lines are added, statistics are recomputed, and the gaps between what you intended to play and what you actually played appear. The repertoire stops being a static document and becomes a living reflection of your practice.

A living reflection of your practice, not a static document.

Opponent preparation follows the same principle. From a player's known games, NotiChess reconstructs their repertoire, compares it with yours and highlights the points of contact: the variations where you will meet, the ones they avoid, the ones where they have already been put in trouble. You can then generate training sessions in which the computer imitates their style and level of play — that is, train against a simulation of your real opponent, rather than against a generic engine that plays too well to be useful.

SoonThe opening repertoire is still under active development. The features described here evolve regularly, and new tools for building and maintaining the repertoire will arrive in upcoming versions.
